Tigers Gym is a kickboxing school in Utrecht with three dojos, almost twenty trainers and a community that keeps on growing. Founder Ingmar Creutzburg started it in 2021 with two friends in the Griftpark. People walking by asked if they could join. They still do.

The idea behind it: a place to reset and get closer to yourself, with kickboxing as the vehicle. Next to the classes there is breathwork, a foundation called The Social Club, a school programme, clinics for companies and events ranging from fight nights to winter expeditions.

The challenge

The old website was one long page. Everything Tigers Gym had grown into was in there somewhere, but new visitors had to dig for it. Members had to dig for the schedule.

Ingmar wanted a site that welcomes beginners as warmly as the dojo does and works for members every single day. Companies, schools and The Social Club needed their own front door too. All of it in Dutch and English, because a big part of the community is international.

The approach

We started with the story. “Fight more to fight less” came straight from Ingmar: train hard in the dojo, so you fight less in your head and in your life. That line became the backbone of the site and the first thing you read.

The design follows the dojo itself. Real photos from real classes, graffiti walls, heavy black type and one loud yellow. The copy stays close to Ingmar's own voice. Where something new was needed, we drafted it and he had the final word.

Close to home

This one is personal. Taco trains at Tigers Gym himself, so building an online home for a place that already feels like a second home was a labour of love. Osu.
